Carbon Blocks create a homogeneous, fine grinding pattern. They are self-sharpening and colour coded. Designed to remove imperfections and defects on paint and varnish applications, such as take offs or spots produced during application. These easy-to-hold, grinding blocks consist of a porous carbon compression with graded abrasive particles. Product retains shape and does not swell in water. Size: 5cm X 2cm X 2cm.
Avaliable in various colour-associated grits (P800 - red, 1000 - yellow, 1500 - blue, 2000 - grey, 3000 - green). Contact us for details if your requirement is not listed.
Paint blemishes are almost always formed by 'raised spots' in the general paint base, resulting from dust inclusions, runs or orange peel. The Carbon Blocks carefully smooth such blemishes in the surface structure. They are blocks of solidified polyvinyl alcohol, interspersed with silicon in various, precisely calibrated grain sizes. The sides of the blocks, which are produced in a complicated patented process, have innumerable ground bubbles, however are otherwise completed smooth.
Traditional grinding agents leave score marks on the otherwise smooth paint surface as a result of the uncontrolled composition of the abrasive particles. In contrast, the Carbon Block works only on the high spots extending out of the paint base. This protects the paint base, significantly reduces the working area, thereby facilitating the polishing work.
